Drop Everything and Call Your Long-Lost Friend

We all have that friend who is always disappearing, losing their phone and changing their number, and moving out of town. Okay, so maybe we're the one who disappears too. It's hard to keep track of time, sometimes.

But the minute you hear your long-lost person's voice again, it feels like you're at home again. It’s always good to tell each other what you're up to lately.

There are at least twenty-two reasons why you should stop what you’re doing right now and get in touch with your long-lost friend:

  1. It’s been too long since you lost spoke.

  2. Even if it’s only been a week…or months…or longer…

  3. …especially if she moved away.

  4. (Or you did.)

  5. Not everything can be said through the occasional wall post and comment, anyway.

  6. And obviously, it’s just not enough to hear about each other through mutual acquaintances.

  7. Every once in awhile, a more extended conversation with each other is necessary.

  8. It’s no matter if you don’t live near each other.

  9. …or if you’re both so busy lately that it’s super hard to make time.

  10. She’s worth tracking down and kicking the breeze with every once in awhile.

  11. When you do get to talk to her, it’s relaxing for the both of you…

  12. …especially at the end of the day.

  13. And even if it’s harder to coordinate a phone call, it’s worth the trouble.

  14. It’s best when you can actually hear the sarcasm in each other’s voices, obviously.

  15. Ultimately, catching up can’t wait too long.

  16. And who knows what you guys still haven’t told each other about.

  17. Any problem you’re facing becomes clearer when they give you advice.

  18. And she’s the only one who remembers the time you guys stayed up all night eating pizza and swapping stories about your best boyfriends.

  19. Maybe today you have a million other things to do, but it’s okay to procrastinate those things for a friend, of course.

  20. Mark your calendar, set a reminder on your phone, or just do it on the spot.

  21. You’ve gotta call her soon; you know you want too…

  22. It’s about time…
