11 Reasons to Date The Beta Male

We all know the alpha male: He’s confident, he’s assertive, he’s competitive, he’s aggressive. He has no problem approaching you to ask for a date or taking things to the next level. He has a lot of great qualities – but this isn’t about him. This is about his opposite, the Beta Male.

The Beta Male has gotten a bad rap. He’s been called every name in the book, “weak, uncompetitive, and insecure”, just to name a few.

Most of this bad press is written by alphas, however. It’s possible that the Alphas have caught wind of just how dateable the Beta Male is, especially if you’re an Alpha female. After all, for every Yang, there must be a Yin.

1. The Beta will never demean you in public.

While the alpha is focused on asserting his manhood, cat-calling and showing his friends how many numbers he can get, the beta is more likely to treat you like a human being.

2. He’s very affectionate.

Chances are, you’ve dated the guy who “isn’t into PDA”. What a cop out. The Beta isn’t that guy. He will show his love every chance he gets.

3. The Beta is sentimental.

While the alpha is more likely to forget your anniversary until you text him mid-Monday night football, the Beta is on your doorstep with flowers when you get home.

4. He gives a shit.

While the alpha will smile, nod and try to fix your problems, the Beta will listen and try to comfort you instead. He knows the value of listening and commiserating.

5. He’s more likely to want an equal partnership.

Typical alphas can get insecure if their ladies are the major breadwinner, always preferring to have more power. The Beta is more concerned with harmony than power.

6. He’s less likely to play games.

The Beta will usually be very straightforward about his feelings. This can throw us for a loop sometimes, because we’re so used to guys who do play games.

7. He’s likely to be responsible.

The Beta doesn’t like to take risks. A lot of people think this makes him likely to be boring. I think it makes him likely to keep a job, to be a good father, or to stay out of jail.

8. Betas are peace loving.

While an Alpha may assert his manliness by engaging in a bar fight, a Beta will try to work it out peacefully or walk away.

9. He’s more likely to help out with domestic things.

He doesn’t fear that cooking or cleaning will make him “less of a man”.

10. You’ll never wonder where he is.

The Beta checks in – sometimes several times per day. If you’re someone who likes a lot of attention, he’s your guy.

11. He doesn’t hit it and quit it.

To be completely honest, sometimes it takes him awhile to hit it – he worries about disrespecting you. When he does, though, he won’t just drop off the map.

So, alpha girls: The next time you find a guy who may seem “too shy”, or “too nice” to date – think again. He may be just right.
