To the Person that Showed Me What a Best Friend Should Be

Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.” -Helen Keller

I’ve had a lot of friends in my lifetime, but none come close to you. None will ever compare to the friendship you’ve shown me. None will ever amount to the person you are.

You took me and showed me that good people, good friends, still exist. You’ve shown me that friendship isn’t a one-way street if you find the right friends. You’ve shown me what a friendship that lasts, looks like.

You are truly the greatest friend I’ve had. You’ve shown me what a true friend is. You’d stop everything just to listen to me complain without expecting anything in return.

You’d be right there beside me, if I ever needed you to be. You give without expectation. You help me through more than you realize.

If there’s one thing I can count on, it’s you.

You’ve become my ear. You’ve become my shoulder. You’ve become my best friend.

You’ve taken me in as part of your life and I will be forever grateful.

You’ve made me laugh through tears. You’ve talked me through bad days. You’ve given me hope when I thought there was no more.

You’ve sat with me while I was stuck in my head. You’ve gone away with me to escape the madness we call everyday life. You’ve celebrated with me.

You’ve cried with me. You’ve stood by me as I’ve failed. You’ve been nothing less than the greatest friend I’ve ever had.

Not once have you judged me. Not once have you walked away from me. Not once have you ever broken the trust I’ve given you.

You’ve earned yourself a friend for life. A “ride or die?? if you will. A friend that, no matter where life takes us, will always have your back.

I’ll always be there for you. I’ll always be in your corner. I’ll always be by your side.

You’re stuck with me.

Love Always,

Your Best Friend
