To My Grandpa Smiling Down at Me, Heaven Gained a Wonderful Angel

Not a day goes by that you are not on my mind. You made such a big impact on my life, that I never really realized it until the day you left us.

I knew the day was bound to come, but it was still never easier when you left us.

You were always there at the other end of the phone whenever I needed, and always there waiting for all of us to come together. If heaven had a phone, I'd call you all the time. I'd give anything in this world to hear your voice one last time.

You always made sure that all of your grandkids were happy. You pushed us all to spread our wings and be happy. You wanted us all to grow and become the best versions of ourselves, but you always made sure we knew that family would always come first and to never forget where we came from.

I have a lot to thank you for, so much stuff that I simply can't put them all into words.

I miss you so much sometimes, that I find myself sobbing wishing you were back with us, and here to someday meet my own kids. But even though I miss you all the time, not a day goes by that I don't feel you with me, watching and protecting me always.

Heaven gained a wonderful angel, meaning the world will never be the same without you here.

You always taught me to be kind to everyone; you told me to leave a kind impression on everyone, no matter how rude a person may be. You reminded me frequently, to remember others are fighting battles too. So now and for as long as I live, I will strive to go through everyday with your kindness.

I hope that I am making you proud up there, because you always make me proud to call you my granddad! I wish you could be here for my wedding day and for every other milestone I hit, but I know you'll be there in spirit.

Thank you for always being by my side, I know that's where you'll be for the remainder of my day.

Happy first anniversary in Heaven, celebrate it with a drink and I'll have your favorite drink in your memory.

I miss you and love you always,

Love always,

Your Granddaughter.
