A Letter to My Child's Father, Thank You For My Most Precious Gift

When we found out we were expecting, we both were completely freaked out. We were scared, worried, and filled with doubts.

Since that very day, we have become parents of a beautiful, amazing, smart, precious child.

There are times where I want to rip your head off; you drive me crazy. We certainly do not agree on everything and we've fought a lot more than I could have expected. However….

I have come to realize that no matter what we go through, I will always be grateful to you. Because of you, I have the greatest blessing anyone could ask for.

Because of you, I get to experience the love of a lifetime with a child who looks at me like I put the stars in the sky.

Because of you, I am able to look at life as a gift and cherish every moment because they go so damn fast.

Because of you, I am able to see this world through not only my own eyes, but through young, innocent, naive eyes. Eyes that do not know true pain, anger or bitterness. Eyes that see this world as beautiful and fascinating and amazing.

Because of you, I get the sloppiest of kisses and the biggest bear hugs in the world.

Because of you, I get to watch the true wonders of life, seeing my sweet baby grow in new ways every single day.

Because of you, I get the warmest cuddles and the sweetest I love you's.

Because of you, my life now has so much more meaning, so much more purpose. I will do anything to make my child proud.

Because of you, I am a superhero; a woman with so much strength, motivation and ambition.

Yes, I could go out and have a child by any other person, but that child would not be the same exact one that I have now. We made this unique, awesome, creative child together.

Regardless of what you do, I am able to look my greatest blessing in the eyes and know that they are not only a part of me, but a part of you, too.

Because of you, I know true happiness, true bliss, true admiration. I know what real dreams are made of.

I know that I am indestructible and I always have a reason to keep going because I have my child.

Because of you, I am a mother. And for that, thank you.
