To My Friend Raising Her Baby Alone: You Amaze Me

I know that this is not what you envisioned for your life.

You fell in love, and things were good for awhile.

It all seemed meant to be, and then you found out you were expecting, and that was not what he expected to hear.

You fell in love with your future baby. He fell short of expectations and distanced himself.

He was not ready and he walked away.

I know how much that had to hurt.

I know that the load can be too much for you to bear sometimes.

But no matter how hard it gets, you keep going. You always put that sweet baby first. You strive to be there for all the big moments. You hold it all together even when you are on the brink of a breakdown.

No matter how busy you are, I have watched you creating magical memories for your little one.

I have seen your eyes beaming with pride as you watch them discover so many things for the first time. You make the time to be there and be present, no matter how many obligations pile up.

I know that that level of commitment takes a lot of sacrifices. You sacrifice your sleep, your sanity, and your solitude for your baby. You stop at nothing to make sure your little one wants for nothing.

You have made major cuts to your own social calendar and lost a lot of fair weather friends in the process.

And, I know how sad that must make you feel to think that your sweet baby would make people wanna sever ties with you.

I know you get a lot of prying eyes curious about the young single mom. I know that you have gone through this and so much more since becoming a mother.

But, I just want to commend you.

You set an incredible example despite the cards you were dealt.

You had to grow up fast, but you have grown with grace. And that baby is so lucky to have you in their corner.

It's an honor to watch you grow as a momma and watch your baby grow into a beautiful, kind, loving person.

Please know that I am here for both of you, always. I love that kiddo so much already, and I know that love will only continue to grow.

And, I know that even Wonder Woman needs a break every now and then. So, please know that I am here to babysit if you ever need some time to recharge.

I love you forever. I love that precious baby forever too. And, I am so unbelievably proud of you.

So, in case no one has told you lately, you are noticed and appreciated for the lovely mom you are becoming and the awe-inspiring woman you have always been.
