I was blessed with an amazing older brother. I didn't get lucky enough to have a sister. Not biological anyway.
When I was just starting middle school a new family joined my church. They had a daughter that was just a few months younger than me.
We ended up sitting beside each other one service. That was it. We clicked instantly.
We started sitting with each other every church service and became fast friends.
We would have sleep overs at each other's houses and I soon claimed her as my best friend.
We got through those awkward middle school days and made our way into high school. Little did we know the awkward days were far from over.
There were crushes, boyfriends, and break ups. Not to mention a few breakdowns. We got through it all leaning on one another.
She is the girl I run to when my heart is broken or when happiness needs shared. I tell her all my secrets and dreams. She is my go too.
When my parents divorced when I was in high school. She stepped up to the plate and kept me sane.
After I graduated high school I moved in with her and her family. We were attached at the hip.
We even fought like sisters. We could never go very long without talking though.
I moved 200 miles away to make a better life for my family. There's not a day that goes by that we don't at least snap each other.
Thanks for being there.
