Too often in today's society do we see so many young men and women having babies, yet don't want to take on the responsibility that comes along with being a parent.
These babies are not just baby dolls that you have to dress up, take pictures for social media and then leave them with someone else while you parade around town.
These are human beings who must be loved and nurtured and taught. You see the way society is now? So much crime, violence, hatred and hell, even drug use.
It is your job to raise good, successful people. That's right, not your mom or your friend or your auntie's job. Not your child's grandparents or just your child's other parent, it's your job. So you know what that means?
It is also your job to feed them, clothe them, teach them morals and values. It is your job to care enough to stay home with them and show them that you give a shit.
It is your job to make sacrifices for your children.
Becoming a parent means you don't get to go out and party all the time or just whenever you feel like it. If you wanted to do that, you shouldn't have had a baby.
Don't get me wrong, everyone deserves a break every once in awhile, but that does not mean every time your friend calls you up with plans.
Don't go out to the store and buy yourself a pair of new shoes, while your kids are walking around looking raggedy.
And if you're a single mother, that's unfortunate, but suck it the fuck up. Don't make chasing dick more important than spending time with your kids.
It sucks that the father doesn't help, but that sure as hell doesn't give you a pass to be a shitty parent too. It should make you want to be better for your child.
You should be focusing on the happiness and well-being of your child at all times. This means you have to listen to them, make changes in your life that are making them unhappy, be a good role model, and teach them how to be loving, genuine, responsible, productive members of society.
You can't just let them run around wherever while you continue living your own selfish life and expect them to turn out to be these wonderful, amazing people.
I'm sorry that having children has begun to interfere with your personal life, but maybe you shouldn't have spread your legs and made babies then.
Grow up and take care of your responsibilities. The last thing you should want your child to remember from childhood is that you were selfish. They will resent you.
So get over yourself. Love those babies, however old they are; because one day, they will be all grown up, and you will be left alone, with nothing but years of regret. It's worth making the changes, I promise.
